The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority has announced that agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation will participate in the 2025 Isle of Man Countering Financial Crime Conference, including a case study presentation drawn from an investigation into an international fraud and money laundering scheme. The case involved a Florida insurance mogul who pleaded guilty for his role in a USD 2 billion scheme. The conference will be opened by Chief Minister Alfred Cannan MHK at the Villa Marina on 3 September 2025. The agenda includes discussions on efforts to disrupt organised crime gangs, the criminal abuse of virtual assets, and anti-money laundering enforcement in the UK art market, alongside a focus on the Island’s MONEYVAL evaluation in 2026 with an audience Q&A panel.
