The Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic reported first-year results for Escuela SB, its free training platform, and set out planned enhancements for the coming year. It said 19,031 people have received training, with 29,390 enrolments across 34 academic options. Training is delivered through courses, workshops, talks and conferences, mostly in virtual format, covering financial education, supervision of financial entities, regulation and innovation, and professional development. The authority said the initiative is intended for staff of supervised entities, users, its own employees and the wider public, and highlighted high-demand offerings including modules on loans and credit cards, budgeting and saving, fundamentals of finance, risk management, and updates to the risk-based supervision framework. For the next year, priorities include redesigning the learning management system to improve administration and user access, upgrading audiovisual quality for asynchronous courses, expanding the course catalogue and integrating interactive tools, with a longer-term aim of positioning Escuela SB as a regional reference centre for financial and regulatory training.
