The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) announced the start of Global Money Week (GMW) 2026 in Brazil, a free financial education campaign themed “Talking about money transforms”, launched with an opening bell ceremony at B3 in São Paulo attended by Acting President João Accioly and the Superintendent for Investor Guidance and Sustainable Finance, José Alexandre Vasco. The 2026 programme is framed around encouraging frank conversations about money, focusing on the difficulties young people face in discussing personal finances and how financial education can help open that debate. The opening included a second bell to mark the 20th anniversary of CVM’s Education Advisory Committee, which convenes market associations and institutions including ABRASCA, ABVCAP, ANBIMA, ANCORD, APIMEC, ABCRIPTO, B3, IBGC, IBRI and Planejar. CVM also published its agenda for 16–20 March, spanning a securitisation panel, lectures on excessive indebtedness and decision-making around money, an international webinar on preparing Generation Alpha for financial wellbeing with representatives from Portugal’s ASF and Angola’s CMC, and a session on CVM’s vigilance and response to financial fraud, with several events streamed via educational YouTube channels. CVM directed readers to the official GMW Brazil campaign site for the full programme.
