The National Bank of Georgia reported that Vice Governor Nino Jeladze participated in an OECD International Network on Financial Education (INFE) conference in Sarajevo and used a panel on financial education and economic growth to outline Georgia’s approach to improving financial literacy. She highlighted Georgia’s National Strategy for Financial Education and the NBG’s Finedu initiatives aimed at women and entrepreneurs. Georgia’s financial education strategy has been in place since 2016 and was updated in 2023, with women identified as a key target group. Jeladze emphasised that results are strongest when public and private sectors work together, and she referenced the NBG’s Finedu platform and the “Finedu for Women” programme. NBG Financial Education Department staff also took part in working sessions, and the delegation included NBG Board member Teimuraz Khomeriki. The conference was held within a technical assistance project implemented by the Netherlands Ministry of Finance and the OECD/INFE in partnership with the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing together nine South-Eastern European countries including Georgia.
