The Vietnam State Securities Commission and the State Bank of Vietnam’s Anti-Money Laundering Department held training for securities firms and crypto asset service providers on their legal duties to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. The session continued their compliance training for the securities sector earlier in 2026 while explicitly extending the focus to crypto asset activities, in support of Vietnam’s national action plan for implementing Financial Action Task Force commitments. More than 200 participants received guidance on risk assessments, customer and transaction monitoring, suspicious transaction identification and reporting, and the handling of information involving transactions or assets potentially linked to crime. Attendees represented 82 securities companies, 43 fund management companies, eight non-securities company fund certificate distributors and crypto asset service providers. The training also addressed practical difficulties in recognizing warning signs and organizing sectoral risk assessments.
