The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan published a monthly snapshot of Kazakhstan’s securities market for July 2025 (as of 1 August 2025). Equity market capitalisation increased by 10.8% (KZT 3.7 trillion) to KZT 37.7 trillion, driven by price gains in KASE Index constituents including KazMunayGas (+19.4%), ForteBank (+58.5%) and Halyk Bank (+7.8%). The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) Index rose 6.6% to 6,413.66 points, while equity trading turnover grew 4.0% to KZT 28.3 billion. Turnover in the KASE Global sector jumped 45.7% to KZT 13.6 billion, with 47 stock listings and 18 ETFs from 59 foreign issuers. Outstanding corporate debt securities on KASE increased 1.9% to KZT 14.0 trillion, but corporate bond trading fell 37.2% to KZT 370.7 billion as primary market activity dropped to KZT 314.6 billion. Outstanding government debt securities on KASE declined 1.7% to KZT 29.5 trillion, while government securities trading increased 11.6% to KZT 854.9 billion, including KZT 666.3 billion raised by the Ministry of Finance across 13 bond issues at yields to maturity of 5.0% to 17.01% per annum. In collective investments, 58 unit investment funds were operating and assets under management rose 2.8% in July to KZT 377.7 billion, largely reflecting a positive foreign-currency revaluation of KZT 8.6 billion; securities accounted for 83.6% of fund assets. The agency also reported 4.33 million accounts in the Central Securities Depository’s nominee holding system, up 2.3% in July.
