Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets has hosted a technical assistance session focused on modernizing the legislative framework for consumer protection in financial services, centring on two draft laws covering credit agreements for consumers relating to residential immovable property and consumer credit agreements. EU expert Piotr Adamczewski presented an overview of Directive 2014/17/EU on mortgage credit and Directive 2023/2225 on consumer credit, highlighting key obligations and implementation considerations. The session was supported by the Moldova is Europe Support for EU Integration project and forms part of a broader programme that has also included gap analysis reports and recommendations for normative acts.
