The International Actuarial Association has opened a consultation on three draft educational papers developed by its 2024 Artificial Intelligence Task Force and, separately, invited nominations for a time-limited task force to develop vendor-neutral training material on catastrophe modelling outputs. The AI consultation covers drafts titled A Framework for Considering AI Risk, Professional Considerations for Actuaries interacting with an AI Model or System, and Prompting for Actuaries, with comments requested via paper-specific templates by 28 February 2026. The catastrophe modelling initiative, led by the Advance Committee with the General Insurance Forum and the Climate and Sustainability Committee, aims to produce practical guidance on interpreting catastrophe model results in volatile climate conditions, including for regulatory and sustainability reporting, and seeks nominees with experience across hazards such as cyclone, flood, wildfire and severe convective storm by 28 February 2026. Separately, program details and registration for the IAA Council and Committee Meetings in Ljubljana have been published, with registration closing on 24 April 2026 and the accommodation block set to be released on 8 April 2026. The IAA also announced four finalists for the Young Actuaries World Cup 2026 who will attend the International Congress of Actuaries 2026 in Tokyo.
