Young joined the CFTC in 2024 after nearly 20 years at the US Department of Justice, including as Acting Director of Litigation for the Antitrust Division and Chief of the Fraud Section’s Litigation Unit. His background includes prosecutions involving LIBOR manipulation, alleged FX “frontrunning” of a USD 3.5 billion trade, and futures “spoofing” cases tied to more than USD 1 billion in non-bona fide orders on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange; at the CFTC, he oversaw a record high annual number of dispositions of whistleblower award applications during his first year in the Whistleblower Office.
