The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced two senior personnel changes affecting its technology function and supervision of its most complex institutions. Megan Crespi will join as senior deputy comptroller for Technology and Information Services, where she will oversee information technology, information security, and the agency’s artificial intelligence and data governance policies, procedures and personnel. Jennifer Crosthwaite, currently an acting deputy comptroller for Large and Global Financial Institutions, will become acting senior deputy comptroller for that unit when Greg Coleman retires. The technology appointment is positioned around the OCC’s internal infrastructure and its use of technology in supervision. Crespi’s remit includes the agency’s technology and security operations as well as AI and data governance, while the OCC also linked the role to integrating technology into day-to-day bank supervision and evaluating supervised institutions’ use of technology. In her acting Large and Global Financial Institutions role, Crosthwaite will direct supervision of OCC-regulated institutions with assets of more than USD 500 billion and institutions with a foreign parent, providing continuity in oversight of the agency’s largest portfolios.
