The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) announced that the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will join its “five strikes” series of measures against cyberfraud, extending a targeted campaign aimed at drawing companies’ attention to online abuses and strengthening corporate fraud prevention. MNB highlighted the scale of corporate transfer fraud, citing 1,129 cases worth HUF 2.4 billion in the second quarter of 2025, and welcomed the Chamber’s role in providing practical advice to corporations. The update also reiterated the five-pronged approach, including the launch of the Central Fraud Detection System, which uses artificial intelligence to detect fraudulent activity targeting bank transfers in a fraction of a second, stepped-up monitoring of banks’ compliance with anti-fraud recommendations, targeted investigations at individual banks, initiation of a legislative amendment to protect customers by aligning incentives, and an information campaign on fraud risks and prevention.
