China's State Administration of Financial Regulation, working with the State Administration for Market Regulation and the People’s Bank of China, interviewed six travel platform companies after identifying problems in how they cooperate with financial institutions to conduct lending business. The platforms, Ctrip Travel, AutoNavi Maps, Tongcheng Travel, Fliggy Travel, Air Travel and Qunar Travel, were told to standardise marketing practices and avoid misleading promotional language, clearly disclose the lending institution’s name and credit product information, and clearly remind borrowers to borrow rationally. They were also required to improve complaint handling by keeping customer complaint channels smooth, responding to and properly resolving consumer disputes in a timely manner, and strengthening service quality to better protect consumers’ legitimate rights and interests.
