Argentina’s Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, participated in the OECD Latin America Corporate Governance Roundtable in Santiago, Chile, where he opened a session on capital market development and regulatory proportionality. Silva presented the regional market context and Argentina’s experience with a balanced and adaptable regulatory framework aimed at strengthening investor protection. He highlighted CNV’s use of regulatory proportionality, which has led to the creation of automatic authorisation and approval frameworks for various financial instruments. The roundtable also covered the review of the OECD Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises, the role of environmental, social and governance (ESG) index and ratings providers, and the consultation on OECD Guidelines for Corporate Bond Issuers, alongside a regional launch of the revised SOE governance guidelines. CNV also noted it is continuing to work with Argentina’s national government team on the country’s accession to the OECD.
