Taiwan’s Financial Services Commission published updated supervisory statistics showing domestic banks’ outstanding loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) reached NT$10,569 billion at end-June 2025, up NT$102 billion from end-May. SME lending represented 64.73% of total loans to enterprises and 68.56% of total loans to private enterprises, increases of 0.07 and 0.19 percentage points respectively versus end-May. The average non-performing loan ratio on SME loans was 0.21%, unchanged from end-May. The Commission reiterated its encouragement for banks to expand SME lending while maintaining risk control and management.
