The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) published its 2025 Status Report on the early market uptake of its September 2023 recommendations and guidance, citing growing commitments and an expanding body of TNFD-aligned reports. The report also points to increasing integration of nature and climate reporting and rising investor demand for more specific nature-related standards. TNFD reports that 620 organisations across more than 50 countries or areas, representing USD 20tn in assets under management, have publicly committed to start nature-related reporting aligned with the TNFD recommendations, and it found evidence of more than 500 first- and second-generation TNFD reports now published. Based on a TNFD market survey with 850 responses, 63% of surveyed companies and financial institutions view nature-related issues as at least as significant as climate-related issues for their future prospects, while 78% of organisations that have already reported have integrated their climate and nature reporting; a June Responsible Investor survey cited in the report found 77% of investors want nature-related standards that build on TNFD. TNFD plans a public release event at 5pm EDT at Bloomberg’s global headquarters, with a livestream available.
