Estonia's Finantsinspektsioon and Teeviit, the youth information website run by the Education and Youth Board, announced they are distributing a pocket money-themed financial literacy board game as Christmas gifts to more than 100 youth centres. The initiative is designed to help children learn practical basics of saving and spending pocket money through gameplay. The board game was developed from the winning entry in the RAHAPADA competition to design board and card games for children, which attracted 57 teams from across Estonia. The prototype was created by Ülenurme Gümnaasium students Deisy Kukk, Kristofer-Robin Anniko and Ardi Vaher; the organisers produced it as a playable game and made a travelling version available for schools and teachers to order, together with classroom worksheets. The travelling board game is intended to move from school to school as a teaching aid until at least the end of the current school year.
