The Croatian National Bank hosted an Open Doors Day at its main building in Zagreb, welcoming more than 700 visitors and offering tours, workshops and interactive activities focused on money management, the euro and the central bank’s role. The programme included access to the Round Hall of the former Zagreb Stock and Commodity Exchange, educational workshops led by CNB experts on saving and identifying counterfeit euro banknotes, and an explanation of the lifecycle of money from design to recycling, including how European Central Bank monetary policy affects Croatia. Visitors also took part in a financial literacy quiz moderated by Morana Zibar and organised by Moneterra, alongside children’s workshops and a digital quiz to test financial knowledge. CNB Governor Boris Vujčić and Deputy Governor Sandra Švaljek met with university students, with a lecture by the Governor on the digital euro and a lecture by the Deputy Governor on the international role of the euro, followed by a discussion on these topics and the work of the CNB and the Eurosystem.
