The Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) has launched research into the macroeconomic and institutional factors that attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Curaçao, including a firm-level survey of companies that have previously received FDI. The study defines FDI as foreign individuals or companies acquiring at least a 10% stake in a local business and aims to identify the triggers behind investment decisions and investors’ perceptions of Curaçao’s business climate. Invited firms will complete an anonymous, secure online survey that takes around 15 minutes, with responses treated as confidential. Survey responses are requested by 1 October 2025. The CBCS plans to conduct a similar study in Sint Maarten in 2026.
