The Bank of Lithuania published an overview of its 2024 user survey on the data and statistics available via its website, reporting high levels of trust and generally positive user experience in finding and understanding information used for personal and professional purposes, including decision-making, analysis and research. Respondents most frequently looked for official statistics on the monetary and financial sector and macroeconomic indicators (62%), performance indicators of financial market participants (34%), and economic analysis and projections (33%). The most common reasons for visiting were to search for and view the latest published data (71%), download data (32%) and find out what data are available (24%). Private users accounted for 48% of data users, with businesses and finance companies each at 24%. Data were mainly used for personal needs (48%), decision-making (39%), and analysis and research (38%). Nearly 90% of respondents completely trusted or trusted the Bank of Lithuania’s data, while nearly 70% rated data presentation as good or very good. The survey covered 149 respondents, 87% of whom were based in Lithuania, with additional responses indicating relevance to users in several other countries. Respondents were predominantly higher-educated (nearly 70%), with half in the 35–44 and 45–54 age bands, and a notable increase in participation from users aged 65 and over and under 25 compared with the previous survey. The Bank of Lithuania runs the survey every two years to identify user needs and incorporate feedback into improvements to its published data.
