The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) took part in the XVIII Congress of Insurance and Pension Law in Rio de Janeiro, where discussions centred on the new Insurance Contract Law and its implications for the insurance sector. Alongside its participation in technical panels, SUSEP flagged that the ongoing regulation of Law No. 15,040/2024 is among the authority’s top priorities in its 2026 Regulation Plan. SUSEP directors contributed to panels covering adaptation of life and personal injury insurance to the new law, regulatory and claims-settlement aspects, and the treatment of large risks and reinsurance, in debates held with representatives from insurers, reinsurers, brokers and industry associations. The event, organised by AIDA Brazil, aimed to foster legal analysis and debate across insurance, reinsurance and private pensions, including the impact on relationships with consumers. SUSEP linked the conference dialogue to its upcoming work programme by pointing to the continuation of the law’s implementing regulation as a priority item for 2026.
