The People's Bank of China (PBC) held a launch ceremony for its “Youth Anti-Fraud in Action” series of publicity activities, positioning the programme as a preventive tool to strengthen public awareness and capability to identify and avoid telecom and online fraud. Vice Governor Lu Lei delivered remarks at the event, and Vice Governor Tao Ling formally announced the start of the campaign and presented flags to youth volunteers. The PBC linked the initiative to its broader work to disrupt fraud-related “funding chains”, including the establishment of a dedicated task force under the State Council’s coordination mechanism on combating telecom and online crime. The series will include an anti-fraud short video competition, an anti-fraud “five-entry” outreach campaign, a “Ten Years of Anti-Fraud” storytelling initiative, an online anti-fraud knowledge quiz, and anti-fraud stand-up comedy activities for university students. Participants included youth representatives from the PBC, the Ministry of Public Security, commercial banks, and payment institutions, alongside officials from the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, major state-owned banks, and parts of the PBC system.
