South Africa's National Treasury announced that the Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, has appointed Lebogang Paul Mogashoa as the Pension Funds Adjudicator for the Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) for a three-year term, effective 8 December 2025. The OPFA is a statutory ombud scheme that investigates and determines pension fund complaints under the Pension Funds Act and also handles complaints designated to it under section 211 of the Financial Sector Regulation Act. The appointment is made under section 30C of the Pension Funds Act and is subject to the Pension Funds Act, the Public Finance Management Act and applicable governance ordinances. National Treasury noted Mogashoa's experience in pension fund law, governance, management and administration, including roles at the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund and the South African Tourism Board's pension fund manager, and prior service at the OPFA. National Treasury also thanked the incumbent Pension Funds Adjudicator, Muvhango Antoinette Lukhaimane, for her contribution and leadership ahead of the change taking effect on 8 December 2025.

South Africa's National Treasury appointed Lebogang Paul Mogashoa as the Pension Funds Adjudicator for a three-year term starting 8 December 2025. Mogashoa has extensive experience in pension fund law and governance, having held roles at the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund and the South African Tourism Board's pension fund manager. The Treasury also expressed gratitude to outgoing Adjudicator Muvhango Antoinette Lukhaimane for her service.
