The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) convened the International Insurance Symposium 2025, framing it as a national and international knowledge-sharing platform to advance an “Insurance Community” that connects stakeholders across the insurance ecosystem. The event was positioned as part of efforts to strengthen Thailand’s insurance capabilities amid rapid economic, technological, social and climate-related change. Held in Bangkok on 1–2 December 2025 in a hybrid format, the symposium was opened by OIC Secretary-General Chuchat Pramoolpol and built around the theme “Collaborative Intelligence: Building the Insurance Community for the Future of Insurance”. OIC linked the “Insurance Community” concept to the Fifth Insurance Development Plan (2026–2030), highlighting priorities such as research promotion, personnel standards, adoption of new technologies, and further development of the Centre of InsurTech Thailand as a space to test and develop insurance innovation. Sessions featured speakers from organisations including Swiss Re, Aon, PwC and WTW and covered topics such as global economic trends, links between health and biodiversity and insurance, AI and big data risks, disaster management, ESG product innovation and medical-cost inflation, alongside research presentations and InsurTech showcases. OIC also noted that, following the first running of the ALIP programme in 2025, cooperation is expected to be expanded in 2026 to include Japan, China and South Korea.
