The Bank of France announced the 2025 recipients of its “Young Researchers in Green Finance” prize, awarding Dr Adrien Fabre (CIRED) and Prof Dr Thomas Giroux (ETH Zurich) for their work in climate economics and sustainable finance. The award ceremony took place during the “Green Finance Research Advances” academic conference, co-organised by the Bank of France and the Louis Bachelier Institute, with support from the Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE) and the Sustainable Finance Institute, Paris Europlace. The prize was presented by Alexandre Gautier, Deputy Director General for Financial Stability and Operations at the Bank of France. Fabre’s research focuses on political preferences, international taxation and climate policies, while Giroux’s work examines how climate and environmental risks affect financial returns and how to mobilise private capital for the environmental transition; they succeed prior laureates Dr Alain Naef and Dr Isis Durrmeyer.
