The Central Bank of Montenegro reported that Governor Irena Radovic participated in the IMF and World Bank Constituencies Annual Meeting in Luxembourg, where central bank governors, finance ministers and international institutions discussed geopolitical and economic uncertainty, fiscal and financial resilience, and the green transition and sustainable growth. Radovic served as a reporter at the plenary session and moderated a session on European Union enlargement. In the enlargement session, speakers from the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund highlighted that the accession of ten countries could raise gross domestic product per capita in a future “EU-37” by up to 14% over 15 years, with progress depending on reforms, financial support and responses to external challenges; Radovic stressed the importance of adopting the EU acquis, implementing structural reforms and strengthening regional cooperation. She also held bilateral meetings with central bank governors from Dutch-Belgian constituency member countries on cooperation and building the Central Bank of Montenegro’s institutional, regulatory and administrative capacities for preparation for membership in the European System of Central Banks. Separate discussions with the International Finance Corporation, alongside Montenegro’s Minister of Finance, covered cooperation models and planned activities under the World Bank Group’s 2025–2029 Partnership Framework for Montenegro, including stronger support for small and medium-sized enterprises’ access to financing and work on sustainable development and climate adaptation.
