The Central Reserve Bank of Peru published data showing that Peru, alongside Colombia, recorded the strongest growth in non-traditional exports in the region in 2025, rising 14.4% year on year. This outpaced growth reported for Mexico (9.3%), Brazil (3.8%) and Chile (1.7%). Over January 2021 to December 2025, Peru’s non-traditional exports grew at an average annual rate of 9.8%, compared with 9.4% for Colombia, 8.4% for Mexico, 7.3% for Brazil and 4.5% for Chile. The bank linked Peru’s performance mainly to stronger agricultural shipments, especially fruit, and growth in the textile, chemical and steel and metalworking sectors; the measures exclude commodity sales and apply country-specific exclusions for comparability.
