The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) convened the first session of the fourth meeting of its Fourth Staff Council at the Mwalimu Nyerere Leadership College in Kibaha, reiterating expectations of staff solidarity, accountability and efficiency as foundations for delivering the authority’s objectives. Opening the session on behalf of the Staff Council chair, Deputy Insurance Commissioner Khadija I. Said urged employees to increase accountability and improve performance to meet the goals of TIRA’s Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP), linking stronger execution to the authority’s ability to resource and implement the fiscal year 2026/2027 budget. Presentations covered implementation of the fiscal year 2025/2026 budget, the responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit and a customer service charter, with participation including leaders from the Dar es Salaam branch of the Local Government and Health Workers Union (TUGHE) and internal invitees. The meeting’s core agenda includes discussing fiscal year 2026/2027 budget priorities and reviewing the draft budget, and it is expected to conclude on 10 February 2026.
