The Reserve Bank of Fiji and Fiji Development Bank have signed an FJD 50,000 partnership agreement to support the second year of the Fiji Innovation Hub, advancing the platform beyond its completed pilot year. The funding will support entrepreneurship, locally developed solutions and financial inclusion through the hub’s accelerator and ecosystem-building activities. The sponsorship covers initiatives including the Certificate of Applied Innovation, Uni Hackathon, second Activator cohort, Startup World Cup and Fintech Festival, as well as continuing incubation and networking programs. Fiji Development Bank is also developing a financing solution for emerging businesses and innovators, which participants in the hub’s ecosystem are expected to be able to access to turn promising ideas into sustainable ventures.
