Chile's Financial Market Commission launched on April 6 a nationwide financial education campaign to encourage citizens to switch to more secure means of authentication as a fraud-prevention measure. The initiative sits within a broader modernization process that replaces printed authentication tools, such as coordinate cards, with digital solutions offering higher levels of security and validation. The campaign began in the Ñuble Region with a series of talks providing practical guidance on preventing fraud and navigating digital environments securely, including sessions aimed at senior citizens. Commercial Engineering students from the University of Concepción’s Business and Management School will receive training and then be deployed to help disseminate the information, and the CMF plans visits to the municipalities of El Carmen, San Nicolás, San Carlos and Chillán.
