Danish Finanstilsynet completed its annual designation of systemically important financial institutions (SIFIs) in Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, updating the SIFI population and the systemic importance categories that underpin higher SIFI capital buffer requirements. The review resulted in three changes to classifications and groupings. Nordea Kredit Realkreditaktieselskab A/S moved from systemic importance category 2 to category 1. Spar Nord Bank A/S is no longer designated as a SIFI on a standalone basis and is instead included within the Nykredit Realkredit A/S group, whose systemic importance increased but remains in category 3. The Danish SIFI groups for 2025 are Danske Bank A/S, Nykredit Realkredit A/S, Jyske Bank A/S, Nordea Kredit Realkreditaktieselskab, Sydbank A/S, DLR Kredit A/S, Saxo Bank A/S and Aktieselskabet Arbejdernes Landsbank; the Faroese SIFI groups remain Føroya Banki and P/F Betri Banki; and Grønlandsbanken remains designated as a SIFI in Greenland.
