The Montenegro Capital Market Authority reported on its participation in the OECD/INFE “Technical Assistance Project on Financial Education” annual meeting in Sarajevo, where it contributed to peer exchange on financial literacy policies and presented a new digital education initiative. The meeting, held from 7 to 9 October 2025 and organised by OECD/INFE and the Netherlands’ Ministry of Finance, brought together central banks, regulators and ministries from ten participating countries. Montenegro’s delegation, led by President Željko Drinčić, joined discussions covering financial education’s role in growth with a focus on women entrepreneurs, consumer protection against financial fraud and online scams, approaches to implementing and monitoring national financial literacy strategies, teacher enablement, and programmes for rural and remote areas. During the event, the authority presented “Kapitalko”, an interactive online game designed to introduce basic finance and capital markets concepts, particularly to younger users. The authority indicated it will continue collaborating with international organisations through joint initiatives to further develop financial education in Montenegro.
