Peru's Superintendency of the Securities Market (SMV) has concluded the twenty-seventh Securities Market Specialization Programme (PEMV), organised by the SMV and delivered in-person by the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). The programme is positioned as part of the SMV’s work to strengthen financial education in the markets under its remit. The 2026 cohort included 28 students and graduates from public and private universities, selected on merit from more than 650 applicants who took a general aptitude and knowledge test, and also included four SMV staff participants. Of those admitted, 18 were current university students and 10 were graduates, with 18 participants from Lima Metropolitan Area and 10 from universities in other regions including Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huánuco, Lambayeque, Piura and Puno; 9 were women and 19 men. The top three places were awarded to Fabrizzio Martín Urbina Gonzales (National University of Piura), Andrea del Pilar Tinco La Rosa (UPC) and Max Andy Arévalo Ruiz (UPC), and the SMV noted that since the programme’s launch in 1995 it has trained more than 800 students and graduates.
