The Bank of Greece, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Green Fund, held the second workshop in its series on “Financing climate change adaptation: frameworks, instruments and case studies”, under the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR project. The session centred on how to advance adaptation finance at a time when funding remains limited and is significantly lower than spending on climate change mitigation, with a particular emphasis on mobilising private capital alongside public resources. The workshop examined practical frameworks used for adaptation financing and discussed case studies from the financial system, building on the first workshop’s focus on the role of the financial sector and stakeholder synergies. Participants included representatives from the Green Fund, the Network for Greening the Financial System and the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative, the Climate Bonds Initiative, the Cooperative Bank of Karditsa and the European Federation of Ethical and Alternative Banks and Financiers, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, Rabobank and the Bank of Greece.
