The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) has released two open-access capacity-building tools on its website, a Learning Lab for self-guided training and a Trainer Portal for third-party and in-house training providers, to help market participants understand and implement the TNFD recommendations and guidance on nature-related issues. The Learning Lab provides nine modules spanning the TNFD recommendations, using videos, case studies, webinars and interactive content, with optional user profiles to track progress and additional materials to be added over the coming months. The Trainer Portal offers ‘white label’ training resources, including presentation decks, teaching guides and break-out exercises developed with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, designed to be incorporated into branded sustainability training programmes or used for bespoke TNFD modules under a responsible use policy. The tools also curate relevant content from TNFD Knowledge Partners and other institutions, responding to demand reflected in TNFD’s reported 1,700-plus Forum members, 20 national or regional Consultation Groups, and more than 520 TNFD Adopters, alongside over 300,000 downloads of TNFD guidance since the September 2023 launch of the recommendations. Capacity-building activity linked to the materials includes a Train-the-Trainer programme delivered by TNFD and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in late January with over 40 training specialists from 27 organisations and 16 countries, and planned training programmes by the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative for listed companies and financial institutions using TNFD materials. TNFD also scheduled two public webinars on the new tools for 18 February from 8-9am GMT and 4-5pm GMT.
