The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority published an update on its participation in Tanzania’s National Exhibition of Cultural and Arts Works, where Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports Palamagamba Kabudi encouraged artists to take out health and other insurance to protect their health and safeguard their works. During a visit to TIRA’s stand, Eastern Zone Manager Zakaria Muyengi outlined the authority’s responsibilities and priorities, including supervision and regulation linked to “health insurance for all”. TIRA regulates health insurance schemes to ensure they provide services to members and that contracted healthcare facilities operate professionally, including being registered. The minister also recognised participating financial institutions, including TIRA, as continuing stakeholders, while Tanzania Culture Fund Chief Executive Officer Nyakaho Mturi Mahemba urged artists, particularly youth, to take advantage of opportunities offered at the exhibition, including insurance and investment. The exhibition is due to take place again in October 2026 in Arusha.
