Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets held technical assistance sessions on 2–3 April 2026 focused on transposing European Union Directive (EU) 2021/2167 on credit servicers and credit purchasers, linking the work to higher regulatory standards not only for credit origination but also for debt collection. Moderated by Angela-Margareta Oprea from Romania’s National Authority for Consumer Protection, the sessions combined staff training with recommendations to improve the draft law on credit servicers and credit purchasers, alongside an extended meeting with key financial-market participants on the new regulatory requirements and their expected impact on the business models of affected entities. The activity was supported by the “Moldova is Europe – Support for EU integration” project.
