Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) held a Student Integrity Campaign (In Camp) at Universitas Andalas in Padang, with Audit Board Chair Sophia Wattimena urging stronger integrity values among young people as a foundation for a clean, accountable and sustainable financial services sector and for supporting economic activity. In her remarks, Wattimena pointed to survey findings from Deloitte and the IDN Research Institute indicating high ethical idealism among Gen Z and millennials, including that nearly 40% of respondents would refuse jobs that conflict with their ethics or personal beliefs. She also outlined OJK’s governance-strengthening measures already taken in the financial services sector, including issuing OJK regulations on the integrity of financial reporting, the independence of public accountants, audit transparency, and the implementation of an Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP), aimed at building public trust and preventing fraud. The hybrid event was attended by Universitas Andalas Rector Efa Yonnedi and other OJK representatives and drew more than 2,500 students and members of the university community. OJK positioned the campaign as part of its ongoing Roadshow Governansi across Indonesia and said it will continue working with educational institutions and other stakeholders to build a culture of integrity and good governance.
