The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council announced the reselection of Charles G. Cooper to its State Liaison Committee (SLC) for a term running from May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2027, and the SLC re-elected him as Chair for a one-year term ending April 30, 2026. Cooper has served on the SLC and as its Chair since 2023. Cooper is Commissioner of the Texas Department of Banking, where he is responsible for the chartering, regulation, supervision, and examination of 214 Texas state-chartered banks with aggregate assets of approximately USD 426.6 billion, as well as supervision of trust companies, foreign bank agencies and branches, prepaid funeral licensees, money service businesses, and perpetual care cemeteries. The five-member SLC also includes Katherine M.R. Bosken (North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks), Greg Gonzales (Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions), Polly Klyce Pennoyer (New York State Department of Financial Services), and Aaron Luetzow (Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services).
