At the formal session of Financial Education Week 2026 in Lisbon, the Portuguese Insurance Regulator (ASF) highlighted the need to embed financial literacy in compulsory schooling and to strengthen how initiatives are assessed. ASF President Gabriel Bernardino argued that students should acquire foundational skills that allow financial literacy concepts to be introduced across mandatory curriculum subjects, with broad access to these learning outcomes. The ASF President also emphasised the importance of developing evaluation methodologies to monitor results, support continuous learning and enable adjustments to maximise impact. The event brought together members of the National Council of Financial Supervisors, the Governor of the Bank of Portugal Álvaro Santos Pereira and the President of the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) Luís Laginha, and included a second panel on the impact of the Todos Contam initiative in schools. The winners of the 14th edition of the Todos Contam contest were announced, with results presented by EduQa Vice-President and jury member Eulália Alexandre, and the session was closed by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Fernando Alexandre.
