The Central Bank of Kuwait announced the launch of the first edition of the Advanced Cybersecurity Leaders Program, delivered under its Kafa’a initiative in collaboration with Kuwaiti banks and managed by the Kuwait Institute of Banking Studies (KIBS). The programme is positioned to build national cybersecurity capability for the banking sector, with an emphasis on cloud security and improving resilience to risks arising from the rapid adoption of modern technologies in banks’ information systems. Designed for experienced Kuwaiti cybersecurity professionals, the programme offers advanced practical training in cloud computing security, threat detection and security architecture, enabling participants to pursue internationally recognised GIAC certifications. It will run through multiple specialised tracks, starting with an eight-week Cloud Environment Security track delivered in partnership with the SANS Institute, and is framed as supporting banks’ ability to meet regulatory requirements and address shortages in cybersecurity skills while preparing candidates for senior leadership roles. Applications are open from 1 April to 30 April 2026, with selection based on objective criteria including required tests and personal interviews submitted via the Kafa’a initiative platform.
