The Central Bank of Chile hosted a joint forum with Chile's Financial Market Commission (CMF) on “A century of banking regulation and future challenges for the financial market”, marking 100 years since Chile established its banking regulation and supervision framework. In opening remarks, Central Bank President Rosanna Costa highlighted the role of coordination between the banking supervisor and the central bank in strengthening the financial system, pointing to institutional robustness and public trust as key enablers. CMF President Solange Berstein underscored the importance of innovation and technical dialogue in advancing a stable, efficient and transparent financial market. A panel moderated by Rosario Celedón of the Autonomous Pension Protection Fund featured Rodrigo Valdés (International Monetary Fund), Kevin Cowan (Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez) and José Manuel Mena (Association of Banks and Financial Institutions), who reviewed institutional milestones and discussed future challenges; the event was also broadcast via the Central Bank and CMF YouTube channels.
