Latvia's Ministry of Finance announced that Finance Minister Arvils Ašeradens will travel to Warsaw on 19–20 February for meetings with Polish Finance Minister Andrzej Domański and other Polish government, financial-sector and fintech representatives, with discussions set to cover bilateral economic cooperation, financial-sector development, investment attraction, and regional security and energy initiatives. The agenda includes meetings with FinTech Poland and Future Finance Poland, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and company representatives to exchange experience on developing a financial innovation ecosystem and improving regulation, and to identify cooperation opportunities in digital financial services. Talks are also planned with ORLEN Group on strategic cooperation to strengthen energy independence and on the role of technologies such as artificial intelligence and data centres in modernising the energy sector. The visit concludes with a ministerial discussion on macroeconomic developments, fiscal challenges and targeted investment needs in regional security and defence, alongside capital market development, public spending efficiency and results-oriented budget planning, including strategic conditions for leading Polish banks to expand activities in the Baltic region.
