The Rwanda Capital Markets Authority has set out a training and certification pathway, developed with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, to strengthen professional standards and expand skills capacity across Rwanda’s capital market. The programme is positioned as a structured route for both new entrants and experienced professionals to obtain industry-recognised qualifications and meet regulatory requirements. At its core is the Rwanda Market Licensing Pathway, a three-level framework combining foundational market knowledge, a Rwanda-specific regulatory module, and specialised technical units tailored to different job roles. The pathway follows the Rwanda Capital Markets Authority Circular on Market Certification and Competency Standards dated 6 August, which sets expectations for licensed capital market entities and makes Continuing Professional Development mandatory for maintaining professional licensing. A webinar introducing the programme covered entry requirements, examination structure, and how CPD is intended to be integrated into firms’ performance management systems, alongside the resources available through CISI membership.
