United Nations PRI announced the launch of the Nature Reporting Preparer Forum, a collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development designed to speed market adoption of nature-related financial disclosures aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures recommendations. The forum targets investors, banks, insurers and real economy participants, focusing on peer learning and knowledge sharing to support implementation of TNFD guidance. It also prioritises emerging markets where much of the world’s remaining biodiversity is located and promotes localised strategies and collective action to address nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities. The partnership is backed by the International Climate Initiative through the United Nations Development Programme and is positioned as supporting progress toward the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and narrowing the estimated USD 700 billion per year biodiversity financing gap. The initiative will launch initially in Latin America and Southeast Asia, with participation invited from asset owners and investment managers in Latin America (including Brazil and Spanish-speaking countries) and Asia (excluding China and Japan), as well as global investors with significant exposure to these regions.
