The Central Bank of Peru published data showing that in June non-traditional fishery, agricultural and textile exports increased by 133.3%, 13.5% and 9.9%, respectively, compared with June 2024. Non-traditional fishery exports reached USD 270 million, while non-traditional agricultural exports totalled USD 818 million. The rise in non-traditional fishery exports was driven mainly by a 128% increase in exported volumes linked to greater availability of pota biomass, alongside elevated international prices, including a 15.1% increase in the price of frozen pota and a 6.5% increase for canned pota. Growth in non-traditional agricultural exports was supported by a 28.9% increase in exported volumes, led by higher shipments of avocados (+30.6%), cocoa (+22.9%), blueberries (+306.1%), frozen fruits (+110%) and frozen mango (+388%), while cocoa manufactures (including chocolate, powder, fat and paste) accounted for 25% of the sector’s increase in export value.
