The Central Bank of Cuba has published an update on a community outreach event at the Doña Leonor Pérez Cabrera maternal home in Old Havana, where its staff marked Mother's Day by providing financial education to healthcare workers and pregnant women. The session focused on household budgeting, avoiding unnecessary debt, saving, and the use of the Transfermóvil and Enzona payment platforms. Guidance covered identifying income sources, recording fixed and variable expenses, spotting small unnecessary purchases, distinguishing needs from wants, and setting priorities in personal finances, with particular emphasis on planning during pregnancy and motherhood. A specialist from the bank's systems area also explained the advantages of Transfermóvil, helped participants configure their accounts, and outlined new features added through updates, including the ability to complete some procedures by mobile phone instead of in person. The Central Bank of Cuba described this as its third visit to the institution with leaders of the National Financial Education Strategy in the context of Mother's Day.
