The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank announced that Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Gaston A. Browne, will assume the chairmanship of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Monetary Council at an official handing-over ceremony on 17 July in Osbourn, Antigua and Barbuda. Browne succeeds Cora Richardson-Hodge, who chaired the Council from February 2025 following her appointment as Premier of Anguilla. The Monetary Council is the ECCB’s highest decision-making body and comprises the eight ministers for finance of ECCB member governments; the chair rotates annually in alphabetical order among Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Christopher and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the American University of Antigua Conference Center and will include addresses by ECCB Governor Timothy N. J. Antoine, the outgoing chair, and the incoming chair.

Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Monetary Council to transfer chairmanship to Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne
Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Gaston A. Browne, will assume the chairmanship of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Monetary Council on 17 July, succeeding Cora Richardson-Hodge. The Monetary Council, ECCB's highest decision-making body, rotates its chair annually among finance ministers of its eight member governments.
