The U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission announced that its Crypto Task Force will host a series of roundtables on key areas of interest in the regulation of crypto assets, branded as the “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity.” The series will begin on March 21 with an inaugural roundtable focused on “Defining Security Status.” The March 21 session will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C., will be open to the public with potentially limited in-person participation, and will be streamed live on SEC.gov with a recording posted later. Attendees will also be able to join small group breakout sessions that will not be broadcast. Agenda and speaker information is expected to be posted on the Crypto Task Force webpage in the coming days. The Crypto Task Force, led by Commissioner Hester M. Peirce and launched on January 21 by Acting Chairman Mark T. Uyeda, is intended to help the Commission draw clearer regulatory lines, provide paths to registration, craft disclosure frameworks, and deploy enforcement resources judiciously. The SEC also highlighted that members of the public can communicate with the task force and request meetings.
