The National Bank of Serbia published an update stating that, during the IMF and World Bank Group Spring Meeting, the Serbian delegation expressed the Republic of Serbia’s intention to support the International Monetary Fund’s Regional Technical Assistance Centre for the Countries of South East Europe (SEETAC) through a financial contribution. SEETAC is intended for the Western Balkans and Moldova to strengthen economic institutions and the conduct of economic policies in the context of European Union accession. SEETAC is scheduled to start operating in January 2027 as the IMF’s 18th regional centre for capacity development. Technical assistance will focus on fiscal and monetary policy, strengthening macroeconomic frameworks and projections, statistics, and legal reforms.

The National Bank of Serbia reported that, at the IMF and World Bank Spring Meeting, the Serbian delegation expressed Serbia’s intention to provide financial support to the IMF’s Regional Technical Assistance Centre for the Countries of South East Europe (SEETAC). Serving the Western Balkans and Moldova in the context of EU accession, SEETAC is scheduled to begin operations in January 2027 and will provide technical assistance on fiscal and monetary policy, macroeconomic frameworks and projections, statistics, and legal reforms.
