The Bank of Italy hosted a workshop in Rome on recent developments in behavioural finance and neurofinance, focusing on how insights from these fields can support citizens’ financial decision-making and customer protection. The event, held at the Carlo Azeglio Ciampi Centre and jointly organised with Tor Vergata University of Rome and Università Politecnica delle Marche, brought together university students, academics and representatives of authorities involved in financial customer protection. A closing roundtable discussed potential applications of behavioural and neurofinance research to customer protection in the context of increasing digitalisation of financial products and intermediaries’ sales channels.
